Ceramics expert Meredith Chilton will present an illustrated lecture on ceramics created specifically for the dessert course. Chilton is an independent art historian living in Québec, Canada. She was the founding curator of the George R. Gardiner Museum of Ceramic Art in Toronto, where she worked for over twenty years. In addition to her interest in ceramics, Meredith is also a specialist in dining, gastronomy and social culture of the eighteenth century, as well as theatre history. She has curated over 20 exhibitions, published over 45 articles and books, and has made four films with the CBC (Canadian Broadcast Corporation). Meredith was the principal contributor to Daily Pleasures: French Ceramics from the MaryLou Boone Collection (edited by Elizabeth Williams, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, 2012.)
