About
Empresses of China's Forbidden City is the first major international exhibition to explore the role of empresses in China's grand imperial era: the Qing dynasty, from 1644 to 1912. The RISD Museum has lent a resplendent and rare imperial wedding headdress to the show, a gift to the museum from Mrs. John D. Rockefeller, Jr.
You and your guests will enjoy a private tour with Daisy Yiyou Wang, Ph.D., Robert N. Shapiro Curator of Chinese and East Asian Art at the Peabody Essex Museum and Kate Irvin, curator of Costume and Textiles, RISD Museum. The trip includes private tour, museum admission, motor-coach transportation, and lunch at Turner's Seafood.
