RISD Museum Tour
About
Celebrate
Women’s History Month by taking this self-guided tour to see selected works made by,
about, and connected to woman-identifying artists and makers. We hope you enjoy
these artworks, which underscore the myriad of intersectionalities within us
all. The RISD Museum is committed to social equity and inclusion (SEI), and to
amplifying underrepresented identities and facilitating shared
community-building and learning.
This
tour was designed to highlight just a few works in the museum’s collection that
were made by woman-identifying makers. Keep an eye out for other examples made
by women as you travel through the galleries, remembering that these include many
of the objects whose makers are no longer known to us. Please use this tour in conjunction
with a museum map, which can be picked up from the Visitor Services desk at
either museum entrance.
