Work in Process
Chat with students to learn about the processes and techniques they use to create art and maintain a studio practice.
5:30-7:30: Mason Kelly (Rhode Island College, Metalsmithing and Jewelry) uses different techniques to achieve an aesthetic harmony through contradictory texture and form in jewelry.
6:30-8:30: CJ Guilfoyle (Rhode Island College '19, Printmaking) shares her love of comics, her (occasionally twisted) sense of humor, and her obsession with the uncanny valley.
5:30-8:30 pm: Hands-on Art
Explore the new exhibition Un/Settled and consider personal memory through experimentation with unusual drawing materials.
6-8 pm: Artist's Lab: e jackson
Learn about zines, make your own mini-zines, and play with collaborative comics with local cartoonist and comics scholar e jackson.
6 pm and 7 pm: Ways of Looking
Discover your own perspective on art and design through guided conversation.
7-8:30 pm: Community MusicWorks Sonata Series
Pianist Sakiko Mori performs with Ashley Frith, viola, playing Rebecca Clark's Sonata for Viola and Piano and with cellist Zan Berry playing Debussy's Sonata for Cello and Piano, d minor.
