Providence, RI – January 3, 2025 – The RISD Museum is pleased to announce that admission will be free to all visitors over Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, Saturday, January 18 and Sunday, January 19, 2025. This initiative, generously donated by Amica Mutual Insurance, invites the community to honor Dr. King’s legacy through art, culture, and conversation.
In addition to free admission, the RISD Museum will offer a variety of special programming throughout the weekend, designed to celebrate Dr. King’s vision of equality, justice, and community. Highlights include:
- Interactive Family Workshops: Hands-on art-making activities inspired by themes of unity and social justice.
- Self-Guided Gallery Activities: Curated tours exploring the museum’s collection through the lens of civil rights, equity, and inclusion.
