Hands-on activities and online learning for parents, teachers, and learners of all ages
Here are ways that art and design in the RISD Museum’s collection can support and connect us as we shift where and how we learn. These activities, prompts, and guides are developed for young children, teens, parents, caregivers, and teachers.
For Teachers and Parents
RISD Museum educators look forward to working with teachers to make virtual classroom connections. We are here to support and connect with you.
- Supplement your lessons with information, video or audio, a discussion or creative prompt, an independent assignment, a recorded video lesson or a virtual visit over Zoom with museum staff.
- You can use Virtual Visits materials (recorded videos, lesson plan outlines and PowerPoints) with your students. Schedule a live virtual session for 30, 45 minutes or 1 hour by by making a request through Tours & Groups Visits.
- Use Teaching Notes to support instruction across disciplines with information about works of art, discussion questions and activities. Select from: Artists’ Ideas, Materials, and Process, Think Like An Archaeologist, Gods and Heroes, Imagining the Americas, RISD STEAM: Discovery through Juxtaposition, RISD STEAM: Attention and Perception, and more.

For Families
