Assembly
About
A collaborative performance developed by Taleen Batalian (Artist) and Heidi Henderson (Dancer/Choreographer) explores connections between the inside and outside of the body and reflects ways vulnerability can be both protective and freeing. Batalian's sculptural garments inform Henderson's improvised movement in the exhibition, The Phantom of Liberty. Various notions of "freedom" as being elusive or even imaginary ideals in contemporary life are echoed in work in the exhibition.
Free. This performance will repeat on the afternoon of Sunday, October 28.
Artists working in a variety of disciplines and mediums share their work in gallery spaces as part of a program series titled Assembly. Framed by the chance juxtapositions of objects on view, these performances present creative interpretations, inclusive practices, and sensory experiments.
