Collector's Journey
Step inside the world of collector Vincent Buonanno for an intimate evening as part of the RISD Museum’s Collector’s Journey series—designed for anyone interested in learning more about art collecting. After a formative summer in Rome following high school, Buonanno developed a deep appreciation for prints, drawings, maps, and books depicting the “Eternal City” from the 16th to 18th centuries. Inviting guests into his home, Buonanno will share highlights from his remarkable collection—one of the largest and most exceptional private holdings of Roman works—and reflect on how his collecting journey began and evolved over time. He will be joined in conversation with Michael Hartman, Houghton P. Metcalf, Jr. Curator of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs, as they explore the joys and responsibilities of collecting, caring for a major collection, and the relationships that develop when you collect deeply in an area you love.
