The performance of Miwa Matreyek: Glorious Visions in Animation is scheduled on Wednesday, March 25 at 7:30 pm at Providence College’s Smith Center for the Arts.
An internationally acclaimed multimedia performance artist, Matreyek has brought her work to such notable entities as MOMA, Lincoln Center, TED, Sundance New Frontier, and the Carnegie Museum of Natural History. Coming to animation by way of collage, Matreyek creates live performances in which she interacts with her animations as a shadow silhouette. Her work lives whimsically at the tipping point between the animated and the theatrical, the imagined and the poignantly real. semihemisphere.com
