Ride the Rainbow on Broken Sawblades
About
Join us for an inspiring artist talk with jewelry maker Mirjam Hiller who will discuss her creative practice making work inspired by nature and architecture. Hiller uses specific techniques to turn pieces of steel into organic, colorful objects, and describes her path as a jewelry artist using the phrase: ‘Ride the rainbow on broken sawblades.’ An example of Hiller’s powder-coated stainless steelwork from 2012, Brooch, was recently donated to the museum.
