Join us for a day of family-friendly activities inspired by reuse, with hand-ons art-making that reimagines fabric design, gallery explorations focused on climate justice, and more.
Schedule:
Textile Transformation, Common Room, Chace Lobby, 11 am—4 pm
Reimagine scrap fabrics by creating new designs, patterns, decorations to invent embellishments for your clothes. Led by artist Mary Lindberg.
Cut & Create, Danforth Hall, 11 am—4pm
Generate new works of art out of leftover paper, magazine clippings, and other scrap materials. Led by artist Meredith Stern.
Museum Makers, Grand Gallery, 11 am-4 pm
Recreate your version of the museum galleries in this self-guided drawing activity. Design by Yimeng Yao, BFA GD 2023.
R.A.C. (Rest and Campfire), Fain Gallery, 11 pm—4 pm
Join the RISD Art Circle (RAC) teens for an immersive night time campsite experience created out of repurposed materials.
Talk Care, 6th Floor Galleries, 1:30-3 pm
Chat with members of the RISD Museum staff who curated Take Care, an exhibition that examines themes of land stewardship and sustainability on local and global levels
