Discover La Parisienne. Not only is she a work of art, she’s a real piece of work! Originally scheduled as part of a micro-performance for the Grand Gallery at the RISD Museum, this virtual debut is an excerpt from the play (Installation #9) and part of The Wilbury Theatre Group’s streaming program. Twelve Installations takes audiences on the fantastical and comical journey of an acclaimed painting, La Parisienne by Robert Delaunay. She’s a creative triumph, a provocative beauty and a cunning survivor. The play follows her from Paris to Berlin to Texas and beyond.
Featuring performances by Tanya Anderson and Rae Mancini, and directed by Milly Massey, audiences are invited to take a peek at what happens when art comes to life in this innovative new play by Rhode Island playwright Gray Horan.

Tanya Martin (La Parisienne) has appeared in many RI theatrical productions. Rae Mancini (Retired Actress) is a familiar name to RI theater audiences (select) Church, Mr. Burns, Di and Viv and Rose, Jerusalem, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (Wilbury Theatre); Edward II, Shakespeare in Love, Thinner than Water, Titus Andronicus, Happy Birthday Wanda June, Julius Caesar (Burbage); Mother Courage, Top Girls, A Child’s Christmas in Wales, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (Gamm); numerous roles at 2nd Story Theatre, Epic Theatre and the Brown New Plays Festival. “Founding Mother” of Womenswork Theater Collaborative.
Milly Massey (Director) has appeared as an actor and has assumed numerous directorial and production roles at Gamm Theatre, Wilbury Theatre, Ocean State Theatre Company, etc. Most recently she served as musical director for Assassins (Gamm). She is on the steering committee for Fringe PVD, teaches at the Trinity Repertory’s Young Actors Summer Institute and directs the annual YASI Players productions. Milly is the Director of Fine and Performing Arts at The Gordon School.
Gray Horan (Playwright) is a Providence-based playwright. Twelve Installations is her new play. Developmental readings were performed at The Wilbury Theatre Group where the play will receive a premier production.
