Inscription Text/Poem
Translation: The rose mallow wet with early morning dewThe connotation here is that the rose mallows have collected the moisture in their cup-like flowers and will soon drop from the weight of the water. The poem can be given an erotic reading using the same imagery.
*Ariyake refers to the moon that is visible in the morning on certain days of the month.
