[text and poems]Ariyake no (translates to) The morning moon- nurete ochitaru/fuyo kana (translates to) the mallow wet with early dewAriyake means the moon still visible in the morning on certain days of the month. The rose mallows have collected the moisture in their cup-like flowers and will soon drop from the weight of the water. The poem can be given an erotic reading using the same imagery. For another print with the same poem see 34.186 (Box 59).Also 34.241 [see description field above] and 34.186 [DDG 12/14/2005].
